Where to go on vacation in February in Italy?

The weather is starting to get milder and between Valentine's Day and Carnival you might feel like a weekend getaway...
Between art cities, seaside stays or spa days, you're spoilt for choice in February. Here are our ideas for a trip in February.

Rome: The Roman city will fascinate you in February with theatre performances, concerts, typical markets and walks through the historical streets of the centre. Start your tour from Piazza Navona, go shopping in Via del Corso and stop for an aperitif near the Pantheon. For a romantic dinner choose from the best restaurants in Trastevere and if you want to enjoy the nightlife, go to San Lorenzo, Campo De' Fiori or Testaccio districts.

Genoa: If you prefer a romantic weekend by the sea, you can visit Genoa and the surrounding destinations in February. Relax by staying in Varazze, among the country's best B&Bs and hotels. Alternatively head to Recco for a taste of the famous cheese focaccia, continue with a boat trip to San Fruttuoso and finish with an elegant dinner in Portofino.

Elba Island and Saturnia: If you want to combine a bit of sea and spa, you can plan a relaxing week by setting off for Elba Island. Numerous ferries reach Portoferraio from Livorno, Genoa or Civitavecchia. Then end your week at the natural thermal baths of Saturnia, a true spectacle of nature, between the thermal park and the Golf Resort.

Now all you have to do is book your weekend of relaxation.
